Woodlawn N.S. is situated in a quite country area. The area is occupied mostly by farmers. Many of the inhabitants travel to nearby towns and Galway city to seek employment. Our present school was built in 1958. Before that the pupils attended the old school which is situated nearby. The school is in the parish of New Inn.
Our school has been involved in many projects down through the years.In 2006 the school was Highly Commended by Galway County Council County Heritage Awards for our project on Woodlawn House. We are preparing to receive our 4th Green Flag. We participate in The Discovery Science Project and the Incredible Edibles project.
The eight children in the senior room are taking part in the Keep on Track project. These are the children from second class to sixth class.
