Third and Fourth class read train novels – The Train Set of Terror and The Runner. We really enjoyed reading them and reporting to the class every week an the chapters we had read.

Book Report – 4th Class
Title: The Train Set of Terror
Name: Alanna

Setting: The story took place in a train set
Main characters: Measlie Stubb, Basil Tramplebone, Frank and Tinker the dog.
Favourite characters: My favourite character is Prudence because she is an old woman and she has to go on crazy adventures and it is very dangerous because she could hurt herself easily.
Summary: There was a boy called Measle Stubbs and his guardian is called Basil Tramplebone. He is a “wrathmonk”. He made Measle shrink. Measle made new friends. Basil turned into a cockroach and the others tried to kill him. In the end Basil was killed

Setting: The story took place in a toy train set up in Basil’s attic.
Main characters: Measle, Basil, Frank Tinker the dog.
Favourite characters: Measle is my favourite character; he is smart, kind and generous. He is very dirty but he has a big heart. He has green eyes and brown spiky hair.
Summary: There is a boy called Measle and he thinks his parents are dead. His guardian Basil is a “wrathmonk” and zaps him into his train set! He meets a group whom Basil has also zapped into the train set. Life in a train set certainly is not easy! Basil gets turned into a cockroach and the others try to kill him. In the end Basil is killed and Measle finds his real parents.

Setting: This story took place on a train.
Main characters: Jason, Jam, Michael and Tommy.
Favourite characters: My favourite character was Jason because he was very brave and funny. He was a very nice boy.
Summary: There was a boy called Jason who was running away from home because his mother and father can’t stop fighting. He hid on a train to Liverpool. He made lots of friends on the train.

Setting: It was set in a train
Main characters: Jason, Jam, Michael and Tommy.
Favourite characters: Jason is my favourite character because he is nice and he did the right thing running away and going to his brother in Liverpool.
Summary: Jason ran away from his parents because they were fighting all the time. He went on the train to Liverpool where his brother was. On the way a woman gave him a sweet and he made new friends and in the end he went to live with his brother in Liverpool.
