Attymon National School is a brand new school building. We moved into our lovely new school on the 23rd of April 2009, with great excitement. We worked hard on bringing it up to the standard that it is at now. We have a well equipped library, a learning support room, a staff room, office, store room and two large classrooms equipped with interactive whiteboards and lots of pcs. There are 41 children currently on roll.
Outside, we have our own hurling/football pitch, also plenty of playground space and a very efficient roundabout system that allows parents to drop their children safely to school.
On the 13th of December 2010 the Tánaiste and Minister for Education, Mary Coughlan, officially opened our new school building.
We are situated about 300m from Attymon Railway Station. The station, though now closed for some time, has always been an historical feature of the area. We, the senior class in Attymon N.S. are very excited about being involved in this project and feel privileged to be a part of it.
